An Ancient Ritual of Renewal
The Temazcal is more than a ceremony. It is a sanctuary. In the Mayan tradition the lodge represents the womb of Mother Earth. It is a place of safety where you can set down the weight of the world and simply rest.
We enter the darkness to find the light. The heated volcanic stones sit in the center like a beating heart. As the water touches the rocks the steam rises to hold you in a warm and humid embrace. The air fills with the healing scent of copal and herbs. This is a gentle space of returning to yourself.
The heat softens the muscles and quiets the busy mind. It invites the body to release tension without force. You do not need to do anything here but breathe and receive.
The Release
When the door opens you emerge feeling lighter and clearer. We move from the warmth of the lodge to the refreshing waters of the Caribbean Sea. The salt water washes over you to seal the practice. It is a moment of pure joy and renewal.

We are located at Ikal inside Jaguar National Park.
On Sundays entrance to the park is free for everyone. On all other days you will be asked to pay a small federal fee at the gate to enter the protected area. You can avoid the vehicle fee by walking to our location which is roughly fifteen minutes by foot from the south entrance. We recommend arriving thirty minutes early to enjoy the walk through the jungle and the sea air before your ritual begins.

The ceremony is a two hour journey through four distinct chapters called doors.
Each door marks a sacred moment when we bring freshly heated volcanic stones into the lodge. As the stones enter the circle the heat and the intentions deepen allowing you to travel further into your own transformation with every door. -
Our organic cacao is sourced from a small family farm in Comalcalco Tabasco.
We use the Trinitario variety for its robust flavor and smooth finish which is far less acidic than more common varieties. This cacao is grown with deep respect for the land and harvested by hand to ensure its natural potency remains intact.

Wear whatever makes you feel at ease. Since all of our ceremonies are held on the sand or near the shore you should dress for the elements. For the temazcal we recommend a bathing suit or loose light clothing. Please bring a towel because we always finish our rituals with a dip in the ocean to ground the energy and refresh the spirit.

Our doors are open to everyone regardless of experience or background. Most people who join our circles are starting their journey just like you. Our guides and healers are there to hold the space and explain every step of the process. You do not need to be an expert to find peace and healing in these ancient ways.

Children are the future of these traditions and are often welcome in our communal spaces. However some rituals like the deep heat of the temazcal or the silence of janzu may not be suitable for children under 16.
We often hold ceremonies specifically for children on the weekends. They are of shorter duration and less doors. Please reach out to us before you book so we can help you choose the experience that is best for your family.
